Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus for Windows

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Access: pay once, use on 1 PC without a subscription, with security updates from Microsoft until 9 October 2029. Office 2024 Professional Plus is the larger of the two Office 2024 editions for Windows. In addition to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, it includes Microsoft Access. With it you can build your own databases, for example for customer lists, stock levels, membership management or order overviews.

This edition suits freelancers, clubs and small businesses that record and analyse data in a structured way, as well as private users who work with Access or want to learn it.

Office 2024 is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Microsoft 365, by contrast, is paid monthly or annually and comes with ongoing feature updates, cloud storage and use on multiple devices. With Office 2024, the feature set stays at the level of this version, and security updates are provided until the end of support. If you use the programs locally and want no recurring costs, the one-time purchase is a sensible choice.

Publisher is no longer included in Office 2024. If you need Publisher, you will still find it in Office 2021, although its support ends on 13 October 2026.

Differences from Standard and from Office 2021

The key difference from Office 2024 Standard is Access. Standard includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, but no database. If you work with existing Access files or want to manage data using forms, queries and reports, Professional Plus is the right choice. Otherwise, Standard is sufficient.

Compared with Office 2021, version 2024 offers improvements in accessibility and performance, among other things, as well as security updates until 2029 instead of 2026.

System requirements

• Windows 11 or Windows 10 (Windows 10 has not received regular security updates since 14 October 2025)
• Not for macOS or Chromebook
• Internet connection for download and activation, a Microsoft account may be required

Support period

Microsoft provides security updates for Office 2024 until 9 October 2029. If you plan to use it for several years, this is an important point when choosing a version. After that date, the programs can still be used but will no longer receive updates.
