Microsoft Visio 2016 Standard for occasional diagrams in a small office
Microsoft Visio 2016 Standard is the basic edition of the 2016 diagramming program. Visio is not part of the Office suite and is set up as a standalone application on a Windows PC. Important to know: Microsoft ended support for this version on 14 October 2025.
Visio 2016 Standard is aimed at freelancers and small offices that need a graphic now and then: a process for taking orders, a timeline for a project, a monthly calendar for holiday planning or an organisation chart for the website. Because the version has low hardware requirements, it also runs on somewhat older PCs.
If you already maintain files from Visio 2016 or want to keep the familiar setup, this is a suitable solution.

Standard or Professional, 2016 or newer?
Visio 2016 Professional adds technical stencils for UML, BPMN, networks, databases and engineering, as well as data linking, comments and validation rules. For occasional office graphics, this is usually not necessary. If you want to use Visio for business over several years, Visio 2024 Standard is the better choice because of its support; operation is very similar.

Support period
Support for Visio 2016 expired on 14 October 2025, and security updates are no longer released. You can nevertheless use the program indefinitely. Therefore, open diagrams from unknown sources with appropriate care.
How purchase and activation work
- Order: Once payment has been received, the licence key with instructions is sent by email, usually within a few minutes.
- Install: Download the installation files from Microsoft or via our download link.
- Activate: Enter the key and activate online with the manufacturer, in some cases by phone. We can help by email at info@keychannel.de and, on request, via remote support.

Nein. Microsoft hat den Support am 14.10.2025 beendet. Die Software bleibt nutzbar, erhält aber keine Updates mehr.
