Microsoft Visio 2024 Standard for organisation charts and clear processes
Microsoft Visio 2024 Standard is the basic edition of Microsoft's diagramming program. It is not supplied with Office but licensed separately, and runs on a Windows PC. With the one-time purchase you get perpetual use with no ongoing costs.
A common area of use is HR work in small and medium-sized companies: organisation charts show departments, responsibilities and deputies, and process diagrams describe onboarding from first contact to the first working day. Executive assistants also use Visio to present structures clearly for presentations or the intranet.
As Microsoft supports Visio 2024 until 2029, this version is a solid basis for several years.

Standard or Professional?
For organisation charts, flowcharts and simple overviews, Visio 2024 Standard is sufficient. The Professional edition is aimed at technical users: it adds stencils for UML, BPMN, networks, databases and engineering, links diagrams to Excel or SQL data and offers comments as well as validation rules. If you need none of these, Standard is the leaner choice. Compared with Visio 2021 Standard, 2024 differs mainly in its support, which runs around three years longer.

Support period
Microsoft support for Visio 2024 runs until 9 October 2029. Until then, security vulnerabilities are fixed via updates. The licence is perpetual and does not end with support.
How purchase and activation work
- Order: Once payment has been received, the licence key with instructions is sent by email, usually within a few minutes.
- Install: Download the installation files from Microsoft or via our download link.
- Activate: Enter the key and activate online with the manufacturer, in some cases by phone. We can help by email at info@keychannel.de and, on request, via remote support.
